HUMBOLDT INSTITUT

The Humboldt-Institut, a non-profit organization first established in 1977, is one of Germany's finest language institutes. It is built on the philosophy that the quickest way to learn a foreign language is to spend time in the country where that language is spoken.There is no better way to really master the German language than to be immersed in German culture and to communicate freely in German with Germans.

The Humboldt-Institut offers a choice of 19 centers in Germany and different types of courses, varying in duration, intensity, and according to the age group of the students.
-One-to-one crash courses with 40 lessons per week for adults
-Crash courses in mini groups (2-4 participants) with 40 lessons per week for adults
-Intensive courses (in groups of 5-10 students)
- 30 lessons per week for students aged 18 years and over
- 30 lessons per week for students aged between 15 and 18 years

-Summer courses in groups of 5-10 students, with 25 lessons per week, for students from 15 to 18 years of age and for university students aged 18 years and over
-Junior intensive courses in groups of 5-10 students, with 25 lessons per week, for young pupils between 8 and 12 years and between 10 and 14 years respectively
-One-to-one crash courses with 25, 30 or 40 lessons per week for students between 15 and 17 years of age and for young pupils between 10 and 14 years of age.

Introduction
Asia Pacific University College of Technology and Innovation (UCTI) was established when Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) was officially awarded University College status by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, in 2004. The new University College is now called UCTI for short.

Located in the Okanagan Valley of south central British Columbia, School District #22 (Vernon) serves the communities of Vernon, Coldstream, Lavington, Lumby, and Cherryville. Location
The school is located in St. Gilgen near Salzburg. A small, peaceful village set on a lakeside in the beautiful Austrian lake-district. Salzburg is most famous as the birth-place of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, while the village of St. Gilgen was the birthplace of his mother. Music and the arts play a most important role in life in this area, as do the pursuits of a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, various water sports, golf and riding. With access to superb outdoors and cultural pursuits the school has outstanding opportunities.

Academic courses
Academic courses will be taught in English, with German and other languages on offer. For Middle Years students whose native language is not English intensive English instruction can be provided. As special points of emphasis Film and Media Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies and European Union developments will be integrated in the curriculum. Special arts projects, music master classes, and performing arts activities will be supported by artists in residence, special visitors and close links to music academies in Salzburg. Mother-tongue maintenance will be a high priority, supported by tutors and/or distance learning provisions.
