ITINERARY OF THE TRIP

  

DAY 1 : BEIRUT - COLOMBO. Departure Beirut to Colombo .

DAY 2 : COLOMBO. Arrive Colombo airport in the morning and transfer to hotel. Distance from airport to hotel 35 km. In the afternoon, City Tour of Colombo with Shopping :Colombo is the hub of commerce and administration of Sri Lanka. It was a fort city during the times of occupation by successive European powers and the architecture of its buildings is a blend of the past influences. Highlight places of the tour includes visits to the COLOMBO
MUSEUM, the INDEPENDENCE SQUARE, BANDARNAIKE MEMORIAL, INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HALL, TOWN HALL and PARLIAMENT. Overnight in Colombo.

DAY 3 : COLOMBO - PINNAWALA (83 Kms) - KANDY (43 Kms). After breakfast, proceed to Kandy. En route visit the ELEPHANT ORPHANAGEE in PINNAWALA, which was started in 1975 to house abandoned and wounded
elephants. The sanctuary covers 25 acres of lush vegetation with a population of 77 adult and baby elephants. Arrive in KANDY and check in at the hotel. Kandy is the laidback capital of the hill country, and the historical bastion of Buddhist power. It is built around a peaceful lake and set in a picturesque bowl of hills. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts and Culture. Afternoon proceed for a city tour of Kandy with a visit to the TEMPLE OF THE SACRED TOOTH RELIC, which, ever since the4th Century A.D., when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess's hair, this Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession. Evening witness a
performance of CULTURAL DANCE. Overnight in Kandy.

DAY 4 : KANDY - NUWARA ELIYA (77 Kms). After breakfast, visit the ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS, which were started in 1374 as a pleasure garden for the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants, Spice Garden, Orchid House, as well as flora from the tropical World. Then leave for NUWARA ELIYA- The "Little England" of Sri Lanka. It is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea
Plantations. The Victoria Park, in the middle of town, is one of the loveliest parks. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 5 : NUWARA ELIYA - BERUWELA ( 238 Kms). After breakfast, proceed to Beruwela via KITULGALA. En route, enjoy the sight of ST.CLAIR'S & DEVON WATERFALLS. Arrive BERUWELA ,the world famous beach
resort, with its magnificent beach, known for its safety and coral reef. All kinds of water sports are available in Beruwela and BENTOTA : sailing, water-skiing, para -sailing, etc. Overnight in Bentota / Beruwela.

DAY 6 : BERUWELA . After breakfast. Day at leisure by the beach. Overnight in Bentota / Beruwela.

DAY 7 : BERUWELA. After breakfast. Day at leisure by the beach. Overnight in Bentota / Beruwela.

DAY 8 : BERUWELA - COLOMBO (90 K ms) - Beirut. After breakfast, departure to Colombo airport and return to Beirut.
